May's Housewarming

Sunday evening, May invited all of us to hop over to her place for housewarming. :) I think it's my first time going to a friend's place for housewarming. XD It was a very nice apartment, with greenish garden. Birds were apparently chirping during that evening with the welcoming breezy wind. =) Love it.
It's quite an enjoyable session, to makan makan and hang out together out of the office. =) Should have that often. Hmm. :) Everyone was very curious on what May would cook for us. Haha! Coz she's not the cooking type of lady. Haha! =D However, everything turned out well, without burning her house. Haha! :) should have given her the fire extinguisher just in case. =X Hehe! Terrible us. So, it's picture time! =D

super random

We had quite a random weekend. Housemates and I got ourselve up as early as 8am... and drifted over to Klang to find Suatmei for breakfast. Hehe! It was a fulfilling morning, with sumptuous bakuteh and icey cold glu-glu ice! =)

Apart from food, our tourguide brought us around Klang. Car ride was fun! :) The cny atmosphere filled up the air of Klang. =D Indeed a chinese occupation area. =D
chinese new year is around the corner! :)

the mansion that built in Klang which brought many many tabloids and bribery issues. A hoohaa for a period of time.

Thank you SuatMei for the day! :) and your complimentary bakuteh!

random thought

i always think to myself.
"pls... get out of your comfort zone."

come to think of it.
somehow this brought me back to some time ago
when i got my "job".
it was quite a tough time for me
to adjust myself from student council to counselling.
haha! rythmic!

i was so used to working under the supervisor.
so used to have everything in council.
counselling unit was quite novel to me.

however
looking back at those adjustment period
from the feeling of lost to gain
from this unit to that unit
from colleagues to friends
i think it's quite a positive change.

it made me realise
how important it is to give yourself a try
at least, a change can be quite a better one.
most importantly
you get to adapt yourself into the culture.
to receive guidance and assistance through ppl around.

a rush of thought

It was a looooooooooong looooooooooong month, with a very special and new beginning for me in the year 2010. I've been real busy at work. Up and down to organize events with my unit. Last week was the camp, then leadership class, then OH Card workshop.

It has been very fruitful days for me. Really eventful. Really tired. Really happy and contented. This is the first time I encountered the feeling of your limbs do not belong to you, the eyes were so strained until you feel like closing it but you couldn't, the throat was badly sore due to laughters, the tears were wonderfully and happily flowed out from the eyes due to happiness and encouragement received.

In life, it's really crucial, to be able to do something you like and to be able to learn something that you've yearned for. Must remember, each of us, has different call from God. I think, I've felt the call in accomplishing my missions in life and to move forward to my life vision. I am encouraged! SO encouraged! So filled and occupied with things which i never felt before! Thank you to those who've guided me along the way. Indeed, all of us are blessed. :)

Experiential Therapy: OH Cards Workshop

Oh Cards are an unbound book of endless pages that lead us into new adventures every time we open the decks. It comprises words and pictures. So, what do we do with OH Card you might ask. Hmmm... it is different from tarot cards where people always perceive both as the same. OH Card triggers your cognition, assists you to communicate and interact with others, share your stories and to go through some self-discoveries stuff like that, but tarot cards are very much depended on the teller to tell the client. It's a very powerful tools in the field of counselling and psychology. =) It helps the client to reveal more self-stories in their lives and assists the therapists or counsellors to know the client better whenever the client is ready to pour.
Share your stories based on the cards you've chosen. =)
give others the cards which you think it's a form of encouragement.
There's no standard rules or instructions given to play the OH Cards. It is very much dependent on the trainer, according to his or her objectives, aims and outcomes for the therapy. OH Cards has many many series of different cards, for instance, "Habitat", "Morena", "Shen Hua", "1001", "ECCO", "COPE" and many more. This time round, i got myself a set of OH and Morena. Officially broke. =X
cards! =D
your past, present and future. =))
It's my 3rd attempt to get in touch with OH Cards. External speaker Ms Nicole was invited to give us a one-and-a-half day workshop. Brought in some facilitators to join in too. It was a fruitful journey for some participants i would say.
group pic before the session ended.
during the workshop, it's not just about the cards.
get yourself a cloth, feel it, and share your thoughts about the cards.
This time round, i strongly feel that, all of us, are like the support system for each other. No man is an island. We live together, side by side, with each other. Some students were touched to hear some encouragement from their group members. Some even shed their precious tears due to the disturbance of unfinished businesses. It's alright to cry. It's really alright. :) Some were even touched due to the affirmation given, which they seldom attain from the others.
Morena Cards.
Encourage and empower your teammates with cards that you think it's suitable and relevant to them. =))
Join all the cars together and make it into a story.
it was hilarious and sometimes do not make any sense. Haha!
However, there's no right or wrong about the game. =)
As a counsellor, it's really important, to get your emotion right. This time round, I kept on sorting out my feelings, for not being that emotional throughout the sessions, to learn to have listening ears and to give a smile or even just a nod of head or a pat of shoulder to those in need.
Whenever we go for a training, it's always important, to put yourself as a blank card. To give ourself a room to learn something new, more so, to give yourself a chance, to develop yourself to another level of elevation which you may not even be aware of it. :) Bless it be!

Restore. Recharge. Rebuild.

The theme for this camp- RESTORE. RECHARGE. REBUILD- Team Building and Planning Camp for uni students this semester, organized by Student Development & Counselling Unit. A mixture of indoor and outdoors activities had been carried out throughout these 3 days! :)
booklet of the camp. =)
Yay! =D
a place which filled with our laughters and screams!
Thanks to the uninvited guests such as big jungle lizards! big ants! snake!
*claps*
a mini lorry sent us up to the hill! =D

repelling
quite high on top of the tree
Little Angel was afraid of height
Shan Pin! Hehe! :)
See how helpful they were!
They need to send their team members to cross over the tyre without touching the rims.
It was such a significant camp for me as this time round, i am no longer a student but a staff. Moreover, be it its' content, or the programme itself, the participants were superb and more than enough to hike up the atmosphere! So spontaneous and proactive. What's more, with their high genetic power of being humorous and crappy throughout the camp? 80% of our time was laughing at the participants and we were so well entertained by them! I really had a lot of fun during the preparation. We're indeed the hardcore committee. =D
check out the colours!
we didn't really plan for such arrangement
it came as a surprise for all of us with red and green.
Haha! =) bravo SDCU!
our turn to entertain the students during the Opening.

SWIM SWIM SWIM!
Filling the balloons with water! :)
It's time for WAR!
ROAR! =P
My team had many many tearful laughter moments with all the participants. I guess, our effort wasn't really wasted afterall. Although we really had a very difficult time to bring it all together, but, seeing all the participants being so obedient, so helpful and with so much of passion in the helping ministry, I, myself, honestly, are extremely touched inside out. I believe this group of people, can seriously reach out to many many people and to continously spread love to others in their life.
Overally winning team: Kungfu Panda! :)
Splash you!
I hop! :)
What do you want people to know about you when you're dead?
Write something on your tombstone.
Sometimes I wonder, it's really an amazing feeling, to be able to touch the students, with our heart and sincerity. A participant actually shed his tear during the camp and said that he's too touched until he has no word to describe it. Awww. It was a very emotional moment for me because he never stop himself from joining eventhough he's alone without any friends with him at the very beginning. =)
Transformer's Cheer!
300!
The spartans! =D
MATRIX! with XiZhen- the best kicker!
Cheeky us! :)
Now I know, how does it feel, to be able to toucb the life of others. To have goals in life. To show care and concern to people around you. To learn from others. To share and laugh with your team and to appreciate lil lil things around you in life.

with all my jiejies in the lizard crawl session.
Super tiring! Super heavy! Super saddism!
but super memorable! =D
our last team pic before we left the campsite!
Together, teamwork indeed makes the dreams work! =) Enjoyed the camp to the max! Thanks my unit! The supportive students! The campsite! =)) I will always remember these few days! :) Our team song is still very much revolving around my ears! Same goes with the dance! ^^
Thank you everyone!
