During Ethics class this evening, i voiced out my thought.
Here it goes.
"Understanding
...widens the level of acceptance of a therapist towards the client."
(Ng, 2009)
By understanding a client's background stories, hidden sadness, you'll able to accept his or her decision and to discern the right and wrong attempt under certain circumstances. Hmm. That's my explanation.
I applied this from my own experience.
Friends come to you. What do you do?
Understanding towards friends is also the same case. Don't you think when you understand someone better, you'll accept him/her more? At times, people might misunderstand someone, but you just so happen to know her/him better, thus, you choose to believe her/him and respect the decision made.
Understanding boosts a relationship.
There's always give and take.
Two-ways relationship is always opted.
