Kluang-Segamat (Work & Play)

Last weekend, the four musketeers drove down to Kluang and Segamat to got our Counseling assignment done. Well, i guess, this time round, i really realized and felt what's the meaning of field trip. Guess it's an opportunity (or should i say excuse) for us to get out of town and enjoy our life out of Cheras a while. Hehe! :)

Overnight at my place. Of course, brought them out to jalan-jalan. Makan + shopping. =D A night out with them in Kluang. New feeling.

Pictures below showed our 3 days 2 nights adventure. :)

Second day.
As the ambassador of Kluang, I brought them to Kluang Railway. :)
Well, serious work began right away. Went to Eden for Education Counseling. Or should i say a session with the pre-uni freshie. Our job was to introduce the private edu institution to them. hehe! Not bad. =) Got a chance to be a speaker.
Pic with the committee and counsellor, Paul (long sleeve shirt). =)
We had a chance for our faces to be up on the newpapers. XD

the iguana us! ;) Haha! Promoting UniYouth at the same time. :)
Our names were in the agenda list. Happie.

I had a sense of fulfilment that day because i actually did a one-to-one session with a parent regarding her daughter's future in term of education. Oh man. The feeling was real best when the mother thanked me with a smile. :)

Later, after a rest, our journey continued to Segamat. Before that, Yong Peng was another pit stop for them to try out Yong Tau Fu.

Wow.
Deliciously tasted the genuine fish balls which hardly attain in KL. Hehe! :)

Along the way to Segamat.
Beautiful sky aplenty.
Beauty is in the eye of beholder.
Same goes to nature beauty. :)

Welcome to Segamat!
The town of durians! =D
Kerhuey's hometown. ^^

A dinner with Kerhuey's parents.
5 out of 6 dishes were spicy.
Otak-otak, asam fish, petai seafood, veggie, otak omellete and lala.
All were delectable fantabulous!

After settling down and rested a while, we went out again for sight-seeing. hehe! KH brought us around the town, garden, dataran of Segamat.

The pagola of the garden. A romantic place for couples.
Wet grasses and leaves after rain. Feeling real fresh and cold. ^^
The shoplots that hardly seen nowadays. :)
Lurve it! ^^

Church.
Managed to see SM Canossian Convent Segamat! :)
Lovely. Buildings were exactly like Kluang Cannossian Convent.
A rush of familiarity stroke my mind. Elated. :)
The symbol of Segamat.
Located at the Dataran Segamat. Hehe!
Took many pics from that destination.

slightly similar with Kluang's.
The architecture was slightly nicer with artistic big ornaments.

me in front of the silver sparkling globe. :)
with the spot light on, like a super star =="

Somehow, the rear me was better looking than my front look.
Haha. ^.^v

A big jump from the Kluangites in Segamat! ^^ Yoohoo!

Famous chicken wings ended our 2nd day.
Tired. Throats were sore. =="
Too much of talking during day time in Eden...
Gulping plenty of water after the wings. Hehe.

3rd Day and last day began. =) Kerhuey brought us to chinese-made roti canai that nestled at the corner of Segamat.
Wow. Yummy!
Crispy roti kosong. I mean, really crispy.
Served delicious thick dal that blended well with roti.
Another one was the sandwiches made with traditonal bread.
Super nice!
Kwang said it was too nice to be described. -_-"
Serious work began again on the lovely Sunday morning. We went to Segamat Buddist Centre. Youth Camp held and we went there as facilitators. Conducted a session in regards of Psychology + Counseling.
There were 60 students + 21 camp committee members.
Talent show of Tablo. Hehe!
We named it as 变变三步曲
A group pic with the board of dedicated and friendly committee.
Youthful. Lively.
A session with the kids.
Each of us had individual sessions with 20 students.
Spread some moral values. Got into with their inner selves.
Also, spread the love of Psychology.
Before we departed from the society.
Thoughts: This centre was slightly uncomfortable for me because it was a religious-bound centre. I seldom had the chance to get in touch with it. However, the people there were friendly. It was a worthy try-out for us to instill some knowledge with the youth and shared some experiences with the committee. :) At least, we touched the youth during the session with their inner selves. ^^
Next up.
Kerhuey brought us for Nanyang Kopi + toasts.
Lurve the toasts very much.
I had milo ice. =="
Then, we were brought to a broken bridge of Segamat during Japanese occupation period. The bridge was bomb because the citizens there wouldn't want the soldiers to pass by from it.
Super gao teh-tarik river of Segamat. :)
I guess this is always the landmark of Malaysia with teh-tarik'ed rivers.
If not, maybe u come to the wrong place. Haha!
See the bridge behind us? ^^
We made our way up to KL later on.
In the midst of the journey, we went to Alor Gajah A'Famosa Resort.
Just a photography purpose. hehe! ;)
Another jump. ^^
Yooohoo! :)
The jumping gene began to develop.
Out of my expectation, we headed to Dusun Paradise. It was hectares of tropical fruits plantation. A tourism spot with the entrance fee of RM50. -_-" It was closed when we went there around 6pm.
The landscapes of the place captured my eyes.
Saved them all by my lens. ^^
a silly pic. Haha!
You could just enjoy the serenity of this place.
Laying down the body on the sloppy field to enjoy the sunset. ^^
Adjusted my camera mode.
Shot some pics of sun setting. hehe! ^^
Love it!
It's getting dark.
Seremban Siew Pau Empire ended our journey after Alor Gajah, Melaka.

It was indeed a fruitful field trip for our group. Experiences gained. Fun stayed in. Doing something meaningful indeed brighten up our days. Motivating and helping people was really self-fulfilling. It boosted me to be a more down-to-earth pre-counselor. ^^ Thank you everyone for making this a success. ^^ I learned something from here. :)
